Mouse Hz test
Start the test, then move the mouse quickly and continuously inside the panel for eight seconds. Keep this tab active.
Measure how frequently your browser receives mouse movement samples. Run a controlled test, move the mouse continuously inside the test area, and compare average, peak, median rate, timing jitter and stability.

Common mouse firmware settings include 125, 250, 500 and 1000 Hz, with some gaming mice offering higher modes. This page measures events observed by the browser, so the value may be lower or less stable than the mouse firmware setting, especially at very high rates.
Use repeatable conditions. One browser result is a diagnostic clue, not a complete hardware verdict.
Press Start 8-second test.
Use fast circles or side-to-side movement inside the measurement area. Avoid stopping during the sample.
Leave this tab focused and use the same browser, connection and mouse profile when comparing results.
Run two or three passes and compare the typical result rather than relying on one peak number.
Browsers can coalesce pointer events, throttle background tabs and schedule input differently. Where supported, this test uses raw/coalesced pointer data to improve sampling, but it is still a browser estimate — not a USB protocol analyzer or proof of end-to-end input latency.
Browser event coalescing, display timing, operating-system scheduling, connection mode and background throttling can all reduce the rate observed by a web page.
Use the average and median as your main comparison, then look at peak and stability for context. A single very high peak is less useful than a repeatable run.
It may observe high-rate input on some browser and system combinations, but very high polling modes are more likely to be limited by browser event delivery. Treat the result as a comparative browser measurement.
No. Movement timestamps are processed locally in the page and discarded when the session ends.
